First, never let negative advice bother you. If a security guard’s wife complains about being a night guard, inform her that it is not your fault and then inform her that she should go talk to her husband about it. The security guard job is stressful enough without adding more stress to an already challenging situation. If a security guard’s boss makes some disparaging remarks about him, simply dismiss them. You may need to put some distance between you two, but it’s important that she is not able to contact you again.

Most individuals do not understand that how you think is also the way that you act. If you start to get rid of the things in your life that aren’t worth you doing, you will begin to notice you have less stress. This is because you’re becoming a person who’s organized, functional, and efficient. When you think in those terms, you will not be thinking about why you are not having as much fun at your job as you did. Most security guard jobs require you to be on your feet all day long, sometimes for extended periods at a time. If you work in an office building, it is important that you’re comfortable with your legs. Dress well so they do not hurt. Shoes and socks should be worn when working, no matter where you’re working.
